Thankfully Reading Weekend: Wrap-Up

Hi everyone! Here's the place to link up your wrap-up post from Thankfully Reading Weekend. Whether you've linked up 10 posts or none to Friday's Mr. Linky, here's where you can tell everyone how the weekend went.

Again, this is your weekend that you enjoyed your way. You can include whatever you want in your wrap-up post. If you need some prompts, here are a few questions:

  • Did you read as much as you hoped?
  • How many books did you finish and what were the titles?
  • For how many hours did you manage to escape into your books?
  • Did anyone else in your family take time to read?
  • What was the winner for the weekend?
We hope you enjoyed the relaxing, reading weekend. We were definitely grateful for our weekend of reading fun. Maybe we'll do this again next year.

Thankfully Reading Weekend: Let's Get Started

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone who celebrates is full of turkey and pumpkin pie,

Today starts the Thankfully Reading Weekend. Here is the place to link up with others who have decided to devote at least some part of their weekend to reading.

A Mr. Linky has been created below. Please link to your introduction post and any other Thankfully Reading posts through Sunday afternoon. There is no limit to the number of times you can post or link up here. Post as frequently (or infrequently!) as you like!

If you don't know what to post, here are some ideas. But remember there are no rules; you do not need to post during the weekend!
  • What book are you particularly thankful for?
  • How did you celebrate Thanksgiving?
  • What's in your TBR pile for the weekend?
  • How much time do you think you'll have for reading?
  • What book are you starting out with?
  • Are you reading print, ebooks, or audio? Maybe a bit each?
  • What books did you discuss at Thanksgiving? Did you get any recommendations you can share?
  • If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, don't worry, this is a weekend for everyone throughout the world.
Throughout the weekend, feel free to post about your progress or even get some reviews up. Be sure to come back and link up your posts. Then take a break and check out everyone else's posts. We're looking forward to seeing how everyone else is celebrating Thankfully Reading Weekend.

Oh and don't forget that some of your fellow readers will be on Twitter. You can search for Thankfully Reading Weekend tweets and hook up with others by using the hashtag #thankfulreading.

On Sunday afternoon, we'll post another Mr. Linky for your wrap-up post. Anytime from Sunday afternoon on, if you want to, tell us how the weekend went. You could give mini-reviews of your books, tell us how many books and which books you read, number of pages, number of hours, and so on. This is a rule-free, contest-free event, so you can wrap up the weekend however you'd like.

Remember, you can make Thankfully Reading Weekend work just for you. Read however much you want or have time to. Relax, enjoy the break, and be thankful that we have books and the ability to read and share our reading with others.

Thankfully Reading Weekend

Welcome to the very informal Thankfully Reading Weekend. Jenn from Jenn's Bookshelves gets full credit for coming up with the idea. She happened to tweet that she was going to have a fairly quiet U.S. Thanksgiving weekend and was hoping to spend much of that time catching up on her reading.

Almost immediately Jen from Devourer of Books and Beth from Beth Fish Reads chimed in, saying what a great idea that was. And thus the birth of Thankfully Reading Weekend, which will start on Friday, November 27 and end on Sunday, November 29.

There are no rules to the weekend and no prizes; we're simply hoping to devote a good amount of time to reading, and perhaps meeting some of our reading challenges and goals for 2009. We thought it'd be fun if we cheered each other on a bit. If you think you can join in, grab the button (Didn't Jenn do a great job?) and sign on to Mr. Linky. If you don't have a blog, use the comments!

During the weekend, come back and link any Thankfully Reading Weekend posts to the Mr. Linky we'll put up here on Friday, November 27. Feel free to link as many posts as you'd like. On Sunday will put up another Mr. Linky for your wrap-up post.

We'll also be checking in on Twitter using hashtag #thankfulreading. Join in for the weekend or for only a single day. No rules, no pressure!

If you can't join us this weekend, have no fear: Bethany of Dreadlock Girl is hosting a Read-a-thon on December 5 and Michelle of GalleySmith is hosting "seriespalooza," an event for catching up on your series, later in December.

International readers: Just join in, no need to be celebrating the U.S. holiday. Remember that there are no rules.

Hope to read with you over the holiday weekend.
